Windchill Administrator / Solutions Architect

There is now an exciting opportunity to join the Engineering Systems team on a 24-month, fixed-term contract as a Windchill Administrator/Solutions Architect. RME is based in Toowoomba, QLD but remote working opportunities are available for the right candidate. 

The duties of the Windchill System Administrator/Solutions Architect are to install, configure and customise Windchill products for users. This will include:

  • Deliver and manage implementations of PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) suite including PDMLink, MPMLink, Service Parts, PartsLink and Thingworx Platform;
  • Install, configure and maintain Windchill tools including third party software as applicable;
  • Participate in the design, development, installation, configuration and testing of Windchill solutions;
  • Provide remote administration of RME’s Windchill environment;
  • Coordinate the creation, deployment and review of RME standards and procedures relevant to the Windchill system;
  • Provide training and technical support to RME Engineering Systems teams in the deployment and use of the Windchill system; and

Engineering Systems Administrator

There is now an exciting opportunity to join the RME Engineering Systems team on a permanent, full-time basis as an Engineering Systems Administrator. 

Major Purpose

  • Administration of Engineering centric systems and software;
  • Manage and coordinate ongoing implementation, development and maintenance of Engineering centric systems, software and hardware;
  • Liaise with the product vendor of the chosen engineering software including management of licensing agreements, evaluating/testing new technologies and version updates prior to release to all users;

Administration Officer

There is now an exciting opportunity for an Administration Officer to join RME’s Commercial Services department. 

You will have responsibility for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of RME customer-related internal and external documentation, as part of domestic and international customer order fulfilment, invoicing, receipting, and collection processes. This role processes all types of customer orders such as Capital Projects, Spare Parts, and Services.

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Timely and accurate completion of customer-related documentation as part of the order fulfilment process (based on customer and customs requirements) including shipping, freight, export, and banking documentation.
  • Provision of Advance Shipping Notifications to Customers, freight forwarders and relevant RME staff.
  • Credit supervision according to RME Policy and delegations.
  • Population and maintenance of data in RME’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Customer and Projects Master File.

Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician plays a key role in the efficient assembly of RME-manufactured equipment to a high standard of workmanship and safety.

The Assembly Technician must have a genuine interest in assembling high-quality, high-performance, special machines. RME’s ‘special machines’ may be any combination of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems, including powerful robotic devices.

The Assembly Technician will need to have their own tools as a necessity.

Mechanical Draftsperson

Within the ETO Engineering team, the Mechanical Draftsperson is responsible for the creation of detailed drawings suitable for production of high-quality mining equipment. Under supervision, the Mechanical Draftsperson may be responsible for the preliminary layout and design of various aspects of RME equipment. The Mechanical Draftsperson will be capable of progressing any given part or assembly from a 3D software environment to detailed fabrication and assembly drawings.

As directed, checking and quality assurance of engineering drawings (for parts and assemblies) to the relevant RME drawing and checking standards is also a requirement of this role. The communication of required changes to drawings as a result of the checking and Quality Assurance (QA) function will be communicated via ‘mark-up’ of the drawings, appropriate progression of the drawing file through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) workflow as well as verbal communication where required.
The Mechanical Draftsperson will report to the ETO Team Coordinator and will be expected to complete drafting tasks within defined time periods. The Mechanical Draftsperson will also be responsible for the training and mentoring of junior draftspersons where directed by the ETO Team Coordinator.

The Mechanical Draftsperson will be expected to function effectively in a team environment, both within engineering and in dealings with other sections of the company.

Storesperson

The Storesperson has a key responsibility for the receipt and issue of goods with the correct completion of the appropriate documentation and timely transactions to meet agreed planning dates.

The Storesperson may also be responsible for general pickups and deliveries on behalf of RME, mainly between suppliers / vendors and RME within the set timelines and in a manner that meets RME’s safety and transport procedures.

In conjunction with the Stores Team Leader the Storesperson will take ownership for the presentation and operational serviceability of RME’s allocated trucks, forklifts, JLG lift equipment and warehouse facility.

Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the layout, design and analysis of high-quality mining equipment. The Mechanical Engineer will be involved in all facets of engineering required to progress the engineering project from concept to completion of drawings and / or reports.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the detailed design aspects of each design project and is expected to be able to complete design tasks within defined time periods. Typically, tasks will be allocated and prioritised either by the Engineered to Order (ETO) Engineering Team Leader or another nominated supervisor. However, the Mechanical Engineer will often be required to plan and perform professional engineering work with minimal detailed supervision. Some guidance (provided by the ETO Engineering Team Leader) would be required on more unusual or challenging aspects of any given design.

As directed, checking and quality assurance of engineering drawings (for parts and assemblies) to the relevant RME drawing and checking standards is also a requirement of this role. Customer Support Technician

The Customer Support Technician (CST) is responsible for ensuring that RME assets at Customer sites operate in a fast, reliable and safe manner, both on site and via RME’s Customer Support office, as directed by the Sales and Support teams.

The CST is a key point of contact for service requests and is responsible for the efficient commissioning, maintenance and training of Customer mine site personnel on the RME suite of technologies. The recommendation of spare parts, provision of condition reports and consultation with the Customer on asset maintenance is an integral part of this role. The CST will work in conjunction with the Sales and Support teams to achieve this.
The CST will proactively participate in training and motivation opportunities provided to all RME personnel in this important, Customer-facing role.

International and domestic travel is required, with the expectation that a range of negotiated site travel days will be achieved. The range envisaged is somewhere between 135 to 180 days per year spent travelling to, working on and travelling from Customer sites. Additional days in attendance at RME offices compiling recommendation of spare parts sales and their follow up as detailed in the CST Expenses Responsibilities & Remuneration Policy are also an important requirement.

Field Service Engineer

The Asset Support Engineering team works closely with RME’s Regional Service Centres to support OEM in-service machines and plant across the globe.

Within the Asset Support Engineering team, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for the provision of in-field technical support through the commissioning, handover and on-going use of advanced mill relining technologies to RME’s valued Customers.

Reporting to the Asset Support Engineering Manager, this role will work globally across the organisation, requiring engagement with design teams, project managers, service delivery specialists, technical trainers and sales personnel, all involved in the successful rollout of RME’s machines and technologies.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Provision of onsite technical support to RME Customers, this may include on-going support and servicing of RME technologies; and / or implementation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Assess and report on product performance, faults, and the like; implementing solutions to encountered problems where possible, engaging team members from Asset Support Engineering as required.
  • Preparation of estimate builds of materials and labours costs involved in remedial works of upgrades as needed.

Technical Officer - Engineering Systems Support

The duties of the Technical Officer - Engineering Systems Support are to be a specialist in the installing, configuring, troubleshooting and customizing (were required) of all engineering software and hardware for RME users. Other responsibilities are to provide front line technical support, server management and network or database administration. Testing of required software and the successful deployment of critical patches and service packs is also required.

Cadet Engineer - Mechanical

The Cadet Engineer is responsible for the creation of mechanical (fabrication and assembly) drawings suitable for the production of high-quality mining equipment. Under supervision, the Cadet Engineer may also be responsible for the preliminary layout and design of various aspects of RME equipment.

Having a desire to gain experience in modelling and drafting within a 3D software environment, the Cadet Engineer will work alongside senior team members and carry out all facets of drawing creation for their respective Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a range of fundamental engineering skills, working within a supportive and collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of professional engineers.

The Cadet Engineer will report to the ETO Team Coordinator and will be expected to complete work within defined time periods. They will also be expected to function effectively in a team-based environment, both within the Engineering department and in dealings with other areas of RME.

The Receptionist / HR Administrator provides both ‘front-of-house’ support to RME, along with the provision of administrative support to RME’s Human Resources (HR) team.

Major Duties

Receptionist

  • Delivery of exceptional Customer service by phone and in person
